Life’s Imprints

Found this in one of my old notebooks. Written in 2010

A dry sponge that is suddenly hurled into an ocean

A heart that has never been exposed to love, ambushed by cupid’s army

And an embryo turned babe, cries out, its debut into this world

For you never really know you’re living until life marks you

Before it has singled you out and imprinted on you

And bingo! Life has allowed you access into its kingly courts and chambers

But when life once stranger turns confidant, don’t sleep just yet

For there may still be swans and ugly ducklings yet to show

With caterpillars and butterflies yet to be revealed

Who knows? Better play ball

For Sahara did dry up

Cupid hasn’t sworn an oath with you

The stairway to courts may lead to dungeons too

And like Red did realize,

Dear, sweet and old granny may have been the big bad wolf all along.
